In den Werken des 1983 in Budapest geborenen bildenden Künstlers Péter Tauber nimmt die Metamorphose eine entscheidende Rolle ein. In seinen skulpturalen Arbeiten setzt er Fundstücke zusammen und löst sie von ihrer ursprünglichen Nutzung, ein Akt des Zerfalls und des Aufbaus. Die Ästhetik des Verfalls ist auch in den Malereiarbeiten deutlich zu erkennen. Der Künstler verfremdet Comics und erweckt sie in abstrahierten Bildkompositionen zum Leben. Péter Tauber studierte 2010 bis 2017 an der Akademie der bildenden Künste in Wien unter Prof. Daniel Richter. Derzeit lebt und arbeitet er in Wien.

In the works of visual artist Péter Tauber, born in Budapest in 1983, metamorphosis plays a crucial role. In his sculptural works the artist assembles found objects and detaches them from their original use as an act of decay and construction . The aesthetic of decay is also evident in his paintings. The artist alienates comics and brings them to life in abstracted pictorial compositions. Péter Tauber studied from 2010 to 2017 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna under Prof. Daniel Richter. He currently lives and works in Vienna.

Da wir auf Grund der Pandemie vorübergehend das Q21-Artist in Residence Programm auslassen, wird es Zeit sich in der heimischen Szene umzusehen. Die Jan Arnold Gallery und #Streetartpassage freuen sich neue Arbeiten des umtriebigen Urban-Art Künstler RUIN zeigen zu dürfen. Kurzerhand wird der Schauraum zu einem Aquarium, in dem für die Ausstellungsdauer ein Großformatiger Fisch anzutreffen sein wird, wie wir ihn von den Malereien des Künstlers auf den Wiener Straßen kennen. Außerdem wird am Liftturm der #Streetartpassage für die nächsten Monate ein neues Werk präsentiert.
Wegen der Covid-19-Bestimmungen ist es uns leider nicht möglich eine Ausstellungseröffnung durchzuführen, der Schauraum ist jedoch täglich von 10-10 Uhr frei zugänglich und die #Streetartpassage rund um die Uhr.
Due to the pandemic this year we skip the Q21 - Artist in Residence Program, that said it's time to have a look at the local scene instead. The Jan Arnold Gallery as well as the #Streetartpassage are glad to present new work by the diligently working Urban Art artist RUIN. Therefore the showroom transforms to an aquarium for a large scale fish painting, which we know from the multiple murals by the artist on Viennese streets. Also there will be a new piece by the artist installed at the elevator tower of #Streetartpassage visible for the upcoming months.
On account of Covid -19 regulations there won't be an exhibition opening this time but the showroom Jan Arnold is accessible to the public 10am - 10pm every day, the #Streetartpassage is open 24/7.

Die Jan Arnold Gallery startet das Jahr 2021 mit Werken der drei Organisatoren der Galerie: Markus Grabenwöger, Joseph Rudolf & Sebastian Schager
Ähnlich schwierig wie 2020 zu Ende ging hat das neue Jahr für Kunst- und Kulturschaffende begonnen und ein regulärer Ausstellungsbetrieb mit Eröffnungen ist wieder ein Stück weit in die Ferne gerückt. Dennoch ist Stillstand keine Option für die drei Betreiber der Jan Arnold Gallery. Da trifft es sich hervorragend, dass sie selbst als Künstler tätig sind und die gemeinsame Werkschau den Räumlichkeiten wieder den Charakter einer Produzentengalerie einhaucht, welcher seit Beginn ein wesentlicher Bestandteil des Konzepts ist und sich durch die unterschiedlichen Stile von Grabenwöger, Rudolf und Schager auch in der vielfältigen Programmation widerspiegelt.
Die durchgängige Verglasung der Galerie ermöglicht die Ausstellung täglich von 10 bis 22 Uhr zu besichtigen. Auf Anfrage begrüßen wir Sie auch gerne vor Ort.

Jan Arnold Gallery kicks off 2021 with works by the showroom organizers:

The year 2021 started with similar difficulties for art and culture professionals as 2020 ended, and regular exhibitions with openings have once again receded into distance. Nevertheless, stagnation is not an option for the three operators of the Jan Arnold Gallery. It is therefore a perfect coincidence that they themselves are active artists and this joint exhibition will once again reveal the character of a producer's gallery, which has been an essential part of the concept since the beginning. The concept is reflecting the diverse programming through the different styles of Grabenwöger, Rudolf and Schager.
Continuous glazing of the gallery allows to visit the exhibition daily from 10 am - 10 pm. Upon request, we will also be happy to welcome you on site.

Seine Aktuellen Arbeiten lassen sich als abstrakte Räume beschreiben in denen er verschiedene Genres der Malerei und Collage zusammenführt, digitale und graphische Elemente mit gestischer Malerei verbindet oder alltägliche Materialien zu dreidimensionalen Assemblagen zusammensetzt.

David Mase´s work is multi-layered and moves freely between abstract painting, graphics, sculpture and site-specific installations. His current works can be described as abstract rooms in which I bring together different genres of painting and collage, combine digital and graphic elements with gestural painting or bring together everyday materials to three-dimensional assemblages.

Think about the fear of the monsters under your bed, the monsters on the streets, in your house and in your head. Your fear of the ghosts in the cellar, of the ones from the past and from the future.
Imagine all of them together, in one room and you inside that room.
Can you sit with them for a while?
Now tell me about your fears. About the person you think you are and the one you want to become. Bring your ghosts from the past.
And let‘s light a candle together, facing our monsters and shed some tears, burying our ghosts.

Artist Bio
Claudia Six was raised in a very small Austrian town surrounded by mountains and forests. As the only child in the neighbourhood, she soon discovered her deep connection with strange things. Be it the spooky old cat-lady next door, baby frogs in the forest, invisible pigs in the cellar, and much more, she found herself bonding with entities and fantasies. At art school, where she studied silkscreen printing and textile/graphic design, she discovered that many other strange creatures live in her imagination. Since then, her first aim has been to get these creatures out of her head and into real life. She does this through sculptures, performances, installations and drawings.

Thomas Mock ist ein moderner Tafelmaler. Bevorzugt malt er auf unbehandelten Holzbrettern. In seiner Serie “Gold“ trägt der Künstler Goldfarbe sehr fein und grafisch auf Holz auf. Durch spezielle Pinselführung entstehen Strukturen und Schattierungen, wodurch je nach Betrachtungswinkel und Lichteinfall immer wieder ein anderes Gesamtbild entsteht.
Thomas Mock, geboren 1977, lebt und arbeitet in Wien. Er ist seit 25 Jahren künstlerisch tätig, dabei geprägt, auch durch sein absolviertes Architektur-Studium und das Diplom an der Akademie der bildenden Künste.
Thomas Mock is a modern panel painter. He prefers to paint on untreated wooden boards. In the his series `Gold`he applies gold-color in a fine and graphically way on the wood panel. Trough a special painting technique, he creates fine structures and shadings, which appear differently from different angles, depending on light incidence.
Thomas Mock, born in 1977, lives and works in Vienna. He has been working as an artist for 25 years, also characterized by his completed architectural studies and the diploma at the Academy of Fine Arts.

Von Insekten zerfressen, von Pilzen gefärbt. Kurt Foit arbeitet mit Hölzern, die Geschichten erzählen. Frass-Spuren im Holz wirken wie Schrift oder Architektur und entfalten eine ornamentale Wucht. Kurt Foit bindet seine Hölzer in die schlichte, geometrisierte Form des rechtwinkeligen Rahmens und schafft so eigenwillige, selbstständige und sich selbst verteidigende Wesen.
Kurt Foit lebt und arbeitet in Wien und in Wiener Neustadt
Eaten away by insects, tinged by fungi - Kurt Foit works with timbers that tell a story. Feeding traces in the wood appear like script or architecture and unfold ornamental effects. Foit embeds his timbers in the plain geometric form of rectangular frames, thus creating idiosyncratic, autonomous entities, which stand their own ground.
Kurt Foit lives and works in Vienna and Wiener Neustadt
