Error in Utopia v 0.2
Once there was a clear distinction between reality and illusion, but today the boundarie disappeared. The most intimate part of our lives became the virtual world that feeds on the media. The technology shapes human consciousness and way of thinking, changeing our perception. We live in a world where there are more and more information, and less and less meaning. The term hyperreality marks a new concurrence of circumstances in which disappears every tension between reality and illusion, between reality as it is and as it should be.

Rudi Cotroneo - 32°C auf Lampedusa

Vernissage:
MAY 11, 2017, 18-22:00
Exhibition:
MAY 12 - JUNE 4
Location:
MQ - Electric Avenue, Museumsplatz 1, A-1070 Vienna

“As a result of a deep interest in history and concern about the world in modern times, Rudi Cotroneo developed a desire for peace in these turbulent times, in a dynamic world, whose dynamics can already be questioned in many ways.
His Paintings and collages show consciously perceivable islands surrounded by the sea and create calm anchors. A mighty central mountain massif, taken from nature, as a solid base surrounded by a clichéd alpine pasture with a village and a lake, filled with the spring of all life, our water. The sceneries lead the viewer to the essential things of life and expand thereby our understanding of nature and organic life. Rudi Cotroneo, inspired by his own way of life, traces an picturesque arc from the beach in Calabria to the mountains of our Alps, all valuable things of our earth, which must be nourished and cherished in the hope of preserving them for a long time with the growing understanding of all human beings.“

Joseph Rudolf - Into the Structure

Vernissage:
APR 20, 2017, 18-22:00
Exhibition:
APR 21 - JUNE 1, 2017, Tue - Fr, 11 - 20h
Location:
Block44, Reindorfgasse 44, 1150 Wien

Birgit Rampula, the designer and the creative spirit of the Fashion Label AMATEUR and the artist JOSEPH RUDOLF are not cooperating for the first time. Their joint projects range from designing the ceiling at the outside area of Block44 to workshops and curatorial activities at the Parque del Sol Festival in St.Pölten (Lower Austria) to the idea and implementation of the Schwendergasse Public Gallery (Street Art). Their next cooperation is also an art project, but this time Joseph Rudolf will enter the world of fashion and designs his first collection together with AMATEUR.
Sarah Lisa Rudolf, a jewelry artist and sister of the artist, will show new pieces inspired by the topic of the exhibition.

In the exhibition, besides the textile co-operation, other works by Joseph Rudolf will be on display, as well as a work already hinting at his next show.

We all take influence on the structure, seen as a collection of human actions. The beautiful things of life are essential for our well-being and an important part of this nexus. Nevertheless, a certain impuissance in respect of repetitive and complex patterns of our time is noticeable. Is a self-reflection of the own structures desired or are they in a sort also places of laziness, an imposed comfort zone, which let us almost accept the own entanglement without resistance?
The INTO THE STRUCTURE series is a collection of questions without precise answers, a restless occupation with personal impressions and information we are confronted with.
